KAMPALA – As we report, a senior officer at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, who doubles as the Head of Petroleum Quality assurance, Mr. Spero Byokunda, is reportedly on run.
In this exclusive the world seems to have become too small for him to live in and apparently wanted by Uganda courts of law sitting at city hall in Kampala.
According to earlier Intelligence information from sources indicates that Spero Byokunda is a key suspect who masterminded the deal of fleecing a Serbian investor the one Mr. Ljuba Samardzic of $50m.
However from the charge sheet seen by this publication and from the Statehouses Anti-corruption unit, Byokunda together with businessman Emanuel Byankama were the ones missing from the list of seven (7) suspects who were remanded.
The 5 suspects who include; Byomugabe George, Mugisha John Bosco, Mugisha Doreen, Kigundu Frank, and Barbra Kyobutungi were remanded until 10th November.
Apparently, our sources have since learnt that, court summons were issued yesterday following a request by State Attorney Ms. Mercy Khaidarah Yamangusho who said Byokunda and Byamukama are still at large.
This has placed Byokunda onto on Ugandans most wanted man together with businessman Emmanuel Byamukama before 10th of November.
While trying to dig deeper into this matter, we have discovered from reliable sources that Byokunda is a well-known polygamous man and owns several home both in Kampala, Mukono, Mbarara and Kanungu Districts and might have already left the country through the boarders of either DRC or Rwanda.
Another source which preferred anonymity said Byokunda was last seen at the home of his 4th wife Ms. Ajara Namagembe in Rwizi cell, Ruharo Ward Kamukuzi Division in Mbarara town.
They added that in fact, he (Byokunda) is luxurious man who is ever loaded and can never jump beautiful ladies; a thing they allege could have been his prone to dubious fatty government deals.
A few days before his alleged run, Byokunda released a dossier alleging to have been betrayed by a close family friend.
According to this leaked missive dossier shared on various What Sapp groups, he wrote that, had it not been betrayal by close friend named (Joseph Tumwebaze) may be the matter could have been investigated and handled quietly.
