Police in Karamoja have kicked off a hunt for for suspected armed robbers who shot and killed four people on a highway in Amudat district.
This incident occurred on Sunday around 3 p.m. on Lemusui Road in Akagunyo Village, Amudat Sub County.
According to police, the four victims, who have yet to be identified, were travelling in a Toyota Harrier with registration number UBP 601Q when they were shot by unknown assailants.
According to Mike Longole, the Mt Moroto police regional spokesperson, the four victims are from the Mbale district in Eastern Uganda, but the motive for their attack has yet to be established.
Meanwhile, police said that they have recovered some evidence and statements were recorded from witnesses to support investigations.
The bodies were conveyed to Amudat Hospital mortuary for postmortem awaiting collection by the relatives.
