The circumstances surrounding the death of a couple who lived in Kireku Railway Zone, Bweyogerere Division, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District, are being investigated by detectives from Kira Police Division.
Concerned neighbors reported to Defense Secretary Mr. Waiswa Latif at around 11:00 PM on January 23, 2024, about a closed house that had obvious bloodstains on it.
Mr. Latif acted quickly, and he and the Bweyogerere Police found the dead bodies of Ogwal Kenneth (28), who had broken into the house, and Acen Jesca (29).
The couple’s demise is suspected to be a result of domestic violence, as indicated by statements from neighbors and the recovery of a knife believed to be the murder weapon.
The bodies have been conveyed to KCCA Mortuary Mulago for a comprehensive postmortem examination.
“Preliminary findings reveal Acen Jesca’s multiple fresh wounds, particularly around her neck, while Ogwal Kenneth, presumed to be the assailant, had a cut around his neck. The crime scene indicates a violent struggle, with bloodstains evident on the mattress,” revealed ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police.
Owoyesigyire emphasized that Kira Division Police are fully committed to conducting a thorough investigation to unveil the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident.
