
Christians have been advised by Rev. Fr. Dr. Julius Turyatoranwa, the Dean of Nyakibale Deanery and Parish Priest of Christ the King Church Rukungiri, to always give back to God in order to gain more from His kingdom.
During his sermon at the baptism of St. Peter’s Catholic Church Nyakashaka in Kyatooko ward, Eastern Division Rukungiri municipality, Rev. Fr. Julius disclosed this information.
He also discussed fundraising efforts for the building of Eucharist and the expansion of the church.
Speaking to Christians, Fr. Julius disclosed that all riches belongs to God since He bestowed life, the greatest gift of all, and as such, individuals should strive to return the favor by making material, ethical, and spiritual contributions to church initiatives.
Fr. Julius, however, urged all Christians to cultivate the habit of giving to God in order to receive greater blessings from Him, who is the source of everything.

As the chief guest of the function, Rukungiri municipality’s Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa commonly known as Omuturagye, assured the locals that he would honor the pledges he made during his campaign for the general elections of 2021.
“Omuturagye” Hon. Rutahigwa cited his attendance at the fundraising event, where he donated Ugx. 1 million and I million from Minister Jim Muhwezi to the cause, as evidence.
In order to properly account to the public, Hon. Rutahigwa advised the St. Peter’s Catholic Church leadership to make good use of the cash generated during the fundraising effort.

The legislator for the Rukungiri municipality went on to say that he would keep pushing for improved services for his constituents, citing the ongoing construction of the Rukungiri Health Center IV Rwamahwa as an example.
He also urged people to disregard those who are spreading false information about the general hospital being moved to the Kanungu district.
In 2026, Hon. Rutahigwa asked the people of Rukungiri Municipality to support him in order to provide even greater services, pointing out that their current leadership had resulted in improvements to roads, health, education, and power, among other things.

Ten sacks of cement and ten iron sheets were donated to the cause by Mr. Mugarura Banada Kaharata, a well-known businessman who represented Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata, the woman member of parliament for Rukungiri district.
The head of development at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Nyakashaka, Twebaze Ben Mbaada, revealed that they have been having difficulties, particularly with their parish priest, which has forced them to organize massive fundraising event in order to gather money and build a Eucharist.
Over Ugx. 16.9 million was raised during the fundraising campaign, and Mr. Twebaze pledged to properly account for the funds raised.
