
The NRM party’s leaders have stepped up their efforts to support Jenet Adongo Elua, their nominee in the Dokolo by-election.
The NRM camp has begun a significant mobilization for the party flag bearer, under the leadership of Secretary General Richard Todwong, Emmanuel Dombo, Rose Mary Nasubuga Seninde, and Sammy Ogwang, the NRM publicist for Dokolo district.
During their most recent consultative meeting, which took place on Thursday, the NRM party officials and candidate, Jenet Adongo Elua, courted support from the people in Kwera Sub County and the Dokolo town council.
Sammy Ogwang, NRM publicity for Dokolo district said that although government is committed to delivering better services to Dokolo, It would be impossible without Jenet Adongo since all services will be delivering through her, hence urging the voters to vote for Adongo Jenet Elua.
“The promises of safe water, good health care, improved school infrastructure to the people are in the pipeline. I ask you to vote a candidate who will ensure that these services are fast-tracked,” said Ogwang.
Ogwang also challenged the population to remain claim and peaceful throughout the campaigns, saying, “Violence only brings destruction urging them to manage their emotions even amidst provocation.”
Secretary General, Richard Todwong told the voters that Adongo Jenet Elau is the right candidate due to her youthful age and she is very energetic, flexible and ready to learn faster.
He also reminded the population to prioritize the NRM candidate because Uganda is run on multiparty politics. “Unlike independent candidates, belonging to a political party like the NRM empowers the leader to perform much better,” Mr Todwong said.
Todwong commended people of Dokolo district for voting NRM candidates in the 2021 election in both Dokolo south and north.
Emmanuel Dombo,NRM communication Officer asked the leaning NRM candidates to lay down their tools and rally people behind the flag bearer.
Dombo called for love, unity, forgiveness and harmony among the party leaders for massive support to flag bearer.
“I’m appealing to my brothers and sisters let us forgive one another and we come together, Let’s also forget the past and we think of the future for the betterment of our party” Dombo said.
The NRM candidate, Jenet Adongo Elau committed to ensure due diligence in the implementation of government projects if elected Adongo, saying, “Projects like the construction of roads, Health Centres and schools require scrutiny because they are done using public resources.”
Adongo said that her administration will expedite access to Parish development model and Emyooga funds to boost the house hold incomes of the people.
She also told voters that if elected her she will ensure that Dokolo hospital be built and well equipped.
