Hon. Nandala Mafabi, the secretary general of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), is reportedly planning to run as the party’s flag bearer for president of Uganda, according to confidential sources for this website.
Mafabi is the 11th Parliament’s representative for the Budadiri West Constituency.
He said that Dr. Besigye has been utilizing all available means to thwart his ambitions since he plans to run for president of Uganda in 2026.
The FDC Constitution stipulates that candidates for flag bearer positions must be at least 35 years old, free of any criminal convictions, and not insolvent.
Mafabi alleges that even though Besigye deserted him when he ran against Rtd. Gen. Mugisha Muntu for Party President, he continued to give him campaigning and financial support.
The Justice Minister, Hon. Mao, had given him a hint, which he had overlooked, but it had since come to light.
