JUST IN! Rukungiri MPs, Hon. Midius Kaharata and Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa break silence on reappointing Jim Muhwezi as Security Minister

Rukungiri district MPs have congratulated Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi on his reappointment to the position of minister of national security.

Hon. Jim Muhwezi assumed the office of the security ministry in 2021, succeeding Late Gen. Elly Tumwine.

Upon Minister Muhwezi’s reappointment, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was thanked by Rukungiri district Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata and Rukungiri Municipality area legislator Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, who spoke with our reporter.

Hon. Midius Kaharata expressed her gratitude to Museveni for his ongoing confidence in Minister Jim Muhwezi and her eagerness to collaborate with other government officials to improve public service.

Minister Muhwezi was characterized by Midius as helpful and fast to reply to other Members of Parliament when they ask for help in their efforts to petition the government on behalf of voters.

She went on to say that it was worthwhile for Hon. Jim Muhwezi to be reappointed as the security minister since, since his appointment in 2021, he has taken the necessary steps to ensure national security.

For the benefit of the people of Rukungiri, Hon. Midius Kaharata promised to maintain her positive working relationship with Minister Jim Muhwezi in order to improve their access to government services.

The Member of Parliament for Rukungiri municipality, Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, said that Jim Muhwezi’s reappointment as a minister was worthwhile since, as a fellow lawmaker, he assisted him in liaising with other ministers to provide services to the residents of Rukungiri municipality.

“Congratulations my very own upon your reappointment. Hard work pays!! Keep up the hard skin!” Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa said.

According to Dr. Rutahigwa, he and the woman MP have an excellent working relationship, and they have been able to do more throughout their tenure in terms of providing services to their people thanks to the support of their senior minister, Hon. Jim Muhwezi.
