
The minister of Security who doubles as the chairperson NRM for Rukungiri district Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has urged NRM leaders to work towards uniting the party members other than fighting.
Minister Jim Muhwezi made the call yesterday while addressing NRM delegates from Rukungiri municipality in a function held at Hotel Riverside in Eastern Division Rukungiri municipality.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Jim Muhwezi urged NRM leaders to foster unity since doing so will enable them to fulfill their leadership objectives.
He continued by saying that in order to advance communities and the nation as a whole, leaders should refrain from using politics of separation to set people apart.

Hon. Jim Muhwezi went on to say that instead of misusing social media, the people should use it to build communities and the nation as a whole.
He advised parents and young people to prioritize supporting science education and research since doing so will increase their government income.
The member of parliament for the Rukungiri municipality, Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa and the host MP, told the public that they had accomplished a lot as leaders in comparison to past ten-year regime in Rukungiri municipality and urged them to be reelected in 2026 for further advancements.
Hon. Rutahigwa continued, saying he will keep pushing his constituents to support the things he has already done, such as constructing a district hospital and providing medical ambulance services.
In order for individuals to participate in the NRM primary elections, leaders must encourage others to update their information in the yellow book ahead of the party elections, according to Hon. Midius.
The function was also graced by Hon. Dr. Alex Kamugisha former state minister for health currently serving as NRM chairperson for Rukungiri municipality, LC5 chairperson Rukungiri Mr. Geofrey Kyomukama, the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen, Deputy RDC Mr. Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom, DISO Rukungiri among others.
