RUKUNGIRI-Ugandan Women have been urged to respect their husbands and desist from any form of violence in their families.

The call was made by Can. Suzan Muhwezi, the wife of Security Minister and Rujumbura County Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, while speaking with our reporter after Christmas church service at home church Kasoroza C.O.U. in Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri district.

According to Can. Suzan Muhwezi, gender equality has not diminished the values of an African woman or a housewife, but some women have exploited it as a cover for their immorality.

Can. Suzan revealed that a woman is no longer kept inside doors, or pushed into limitations of having freedom as human beings and not allowed to access the culturally denounced culture like working or public speaking but that does not give her a right to disrespect her husband saying a man will always be the head of the family.

Can. Suzan Muhwezi further emphasizes that women would succeed in their marriages if they are patient and constantly forgive their spouses when something goes wrong.

Nonetheless, she asserted that fearing God and letting Him be a part of one’s life will help a married couple’s marriage succeed.
