As part of the global celebration of World Press Freedom Day, Rukungiri district journalists, under the umbrella of Rukungiri District Media Practitioners Association, gave a variety of materials to expectant mothers and mothers at Kebisoni Health Centre IV in Kebisoni town council today Friday.
To enable them to give back to the public in their capacity as journalists, the donation contained sugar, soaps, and breads.
The Rukungiri District Media Practitioners Association’s chairperson, Mr. Banada Isaac Tushabe, claims that this was one of the journalists’ attempts to give back to the community that had always supported them.

According to Tusbabe, this is also a signal to the public that expectant mothers should give birth at a health centre because it keeps them safer.
