RUKUNGIRI: Rwamagaya Catholic Parish celebrates ordination of its first Priest, well-wishers urged to save dreams for children

Hon. Dr. Alex Kamugisha, a former state minister for health, has advised well-wishers to always assist disadvantaged youngsters, especially orphans, in pursuing an education.

The revelation was made at the ordination ceremony for Rev. Fr. Robert Nsinga, the first priest in the whole Rwamagaya Catholic Parish and a native of Ruhinda Sub County in Rukungiri district.

Speaking at the Rwamagaya Catholic Parish during the celebration of his ordination into the priesthood, Kamugisha explained that well-wishers should now take it upon themselves to assist vulnerable children, whether they are related or not giving an example of Rev. Fr. Nsinga, who lost his parents at a young age but was cared for by his relatives and has since become a very important person.

Since Rev. Fr. Nsinga, the newly ordained priest, also attended neighborhood schools in Ruhinda, Hon. Vanansio Bagateireyo, the head of the laity at Rwamagaya Catholic Parish, explained that having a first priest from their area will encourage young people to grow well in the knowledge that they can become important people regardless of the schools they are studying from.

In order to have more religious leaders in the communities, Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata, a woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri district, urged parents to raise their children in faiths as this would assist to create generations that know and serve God.

Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Robert Nsinga, a newly ordained priest, said how pursuing ordination was a difficult process and how the parish of Rwamagaya Catholic shared in his triumph by vowing to collaborate with them in serving the Lord.
