NEWS-The initial commencement date of October 17, 2023, for the construction of Kyaburere Primary School in Bugangari Sub County, Rukungiri District faced delays thekigezipost.com has learnt.
On December 30th 2023, however, the construction work which is being carried out by Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company Limited began later.
The project entails construction of a two classroom block at a tune of Ugx. 95.36 million.
Parents are optimistic about the construction project because it is the school’s first government-funded structure.
Although the project is not currently progressing well, learners will return to class for the first term in early February, according to the educational calendar.
Our sources indicate that the contractor for the Kyaburere Primary School project may has been overburdened by the volume of other projects he had on his plate.
These projects included building two classroom blocks for Rwamagaya Primary School in Ruhinda Sub County, finishing Kebisoni Seed Secondary School in Kebisoni Sub County, construction of Rukungiri municipality administration block which he run it from before completion among other projects outside Rukungiri district.
But when asked about the delays at Kyaburere Primary School, Godfrey Nshabire, the director of Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company Limited, gave an explanation, stating that the commencement date was pushed back to December 30, 2023 due to excessive rainfall.
