RUKUNGIRI: Minister Jim Muhwezi, Hon. Midius Kaharata support renovation of Ruhinda’s Rwoya P/S

Parents have been advised to educate and support their children in school to excel and have a better future.

During the fundraising event held on yesterday at Rwoya Primary School in Ruhinda Sub County Rukungiri district, Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi, Minister of Security, and the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament, who was the chief guest and represented by Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata, made the call.

The purpose of the fundraising was to raise money for the construction of an office block and renovation of some school structures.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Midius said that in order for Ruhinda Sub County to grow, its citizens need to educate their children and encourage them to pursue careers in teaching.

Natukunda stated that since the government has boosted teachers’ pay, it is a good idea for parents to encourage their children to pursue careers in teaching, particularly in science-related fields.

Hon. Midius continued by informing the people of Ruhinda that, in their capacity as their leaders, they are dedicated to providing them with greater services and pleading with them to re-elect them in the general elections of 2026.

Hon. Midius Natukunda presented Minister Jim Muhwezi’s donation of 100 iron sheets to support the construction of the staffroom block and renovation of structures.

At the same event, the Rwamagaya Catholic Parish chairperson, Mr. Vanansio Bagatireyo, urged parents to help their schools grow so that their children can receive a quality education.

According to Bagatireyo, the government does not have the resources to meet every school’s demands, therefore parents and old students must step in.
