The official opening of “Kebisoni Seed Secondary School” for the first term of the 2024 academic year is something that the residents of Nyeibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub County in Rukungiri District are anxiously awaiting news about.

The residents stress that the infrastructure of the school has been completed as far as it can be seen visually.

Three teachers, the head teacher, deputy head teacher, and one additional teacher as well as certain educational supplies have been sent by the Ministry of Education and Sports.

The Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company’s Christopher Mujuni, the site supervisor in charge of finishing the building, guarantees that the school is prepared for students and that the outfitting job will be finished in less than five days.

A local Primary Seven graduate named Akakunda Joan observes that most students are excited to attend the school because of its convenient location, excellent amenities, and appealing infrastructure.

The area’s Chairperson LC1, Rubagasira Patrick, is irate because he is not well-informed and must spend a lot of time advising parents who are looking for information regarding the formal opening.

Area Sub County Councilor and Vice Chairperson LC3, Frank Mabwa, recognizes that parents who are having difficulty paying school fees are putting pressure on authorities to open and provide free or inexpensive education.

An extraordinary executive committee was called on January 2, 2024, by Kebisoni Sub County Chairperson LC3, Kahanyi Charles, who shared that he is personally being affected by parental pressure.

The committee decided to petition the authorities and hold a strike if they don’t receive confirmation by January 26, 2024.

Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner Steven Nsubuga Bewayo and Rukungiri District Chairperson LC5 Kyomukama Geoffrey confirm that after receiving teachers from the Ministry of Education and Sports, preparations for the formal opening will begin.
