Rukungiri RDC passes out over 1,000 S.1, S.5 student patriots at Immaculate Heart Girls on sports day

Over 1078 S.1 and S.5 students from Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale were commissioned into patriotic cadreship yesterday, Saturday 8th July 2023, at a celebration presided over by Mr. Nsbubuga Bewaya Stephen, the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner, in the school playground.

Students at the school were taught about ideological orientation, attitude adjustment, patriotism ideals, and other issues as a foundation for education and professional development.

RDC Nsubuga, speaking as the chief guest and presiding over the school sports day, asked stududents to be ambassadors in battling indiscipline by joining patriotism clubs.

He advised them to cultivate the spirit of loving themselves, their neighbors, Uganda, and working hard to make the country a better place.

President Museveni was correct, according to Nsubuga, in directing that patriotism groups be established in schools, since this will enhance willingness to protect and sacrifice for the country.

Sr. Gladyce Kachope, the head teacher of Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale, encouraged students to constantly contribute to the development of their schools so that they can leave a legacy.

Patriotism is a universalized government program that was launched by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in February 2009.

The program is intended to teach norms and values of patriotism among the youth and students in secondary schools to give ideological orientation.
