Last week, hundreds of people including former North Kigezi diocesan Bishop Emeritus Tugume Tusingweire, Rukungiri district officials joined the family of tycoon Elder Emmanuel Kikoni for the giveaway (Kuhingira) ceremony of their foster daughter Judith Tumukunde to her fiancé Tumukunde Robert in Kakinga, Kebisoni town council Rukungiri district.
Tumukunde Robert is the son of Richard and Peace Nabasa of Kasoroza in Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri district.
Among the prominent people who attended the ceremony include the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen, CAO Rukungiri Hajji. Masokoyi Wasswa, Rukungiri district chairperson LC5 Mr. Geofrey Kyomukama, Rubabo County Member of Parliament Hon. Naboth Namanya among other invited guests.
Emeritus Bishop Tugume Tusingweire congratulated the parents for raising these young people and wished the couple blessings.
Speaking at the event, Elder Kikoni said that although Judith is not her biological daughter, he has raised her from childhood till the present, the day of his marriage.
Elder Kikoni continued, noting that Judith’s mother deserved something deserving as she went above and above to care for his parents while he was away.

Mzee Kikoni praised Judith for agreeing to convert from her parents’ Catholic faith to a Protestant one of the husband.
