The sudden death of a student at Kabale University yesterday Friday, December 8, 2023, shocked both the students’ body and the administration.
The deceased has been identified as Audrey Nayebare, a native of Kicwamba Parish, Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri district, and a student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences.
The deceased was an old student of Kashenyi Secondary School in the Rukungiri district’s Ruhinda Sub County.
According to information provided by the university, Nayebare, a first-year student at Kabale University, lost consciousness during her exams and was carried outside for first assistance, but she did not get better.
She was subsequently sent to the Kabale Regional Referral Hospital in Makanga, but instead of getting better, her health got worse.
However on Friday night, she was issued another referral to Mbarara Regional Referral hospital where she died from.
Audrey will be laid to rest on Monday 11th December 2023 at her ancestral home in Kajwomushana Ruhinda Sub County in Rukungiri district.
