News coming in indicates that Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale is on spot because of concerns regarding their disposal of soil into the water stream.
In an exclusive encounter with our reporter, Mr. Kushaba Laban Katende, the Rukungiri Municipality Environment Officer, confirmed the development.
According to Katende, during routine monitoring of the environmental situation, they found that during construction work within the school, Immaculate Heart Girls School dumped soils into Nyakibale Water stream, which serves as the town of Rukungiri’s main water source.
They were compelled to speak with Sister Gladys Kachope, the head teacher of the school, and request that the soil be removed right away.
Katende expressed her regret that dirt containing wastes is being recklessly dumped into streams of water used for domestic and animal usage, particularly at a school like Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale, where the community is aware of the need to safeguard the environment.
