
Over 273 students from Kyamakanda Secondary School in Rukungiri district were today Saturday 1st July 2023 passed out after undergoing training on Patriotism.
During the pass out ceremony held at Kyamakanda Secondary School ground, the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mr. Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen who was the chief guest said the training is part of an initiative that the security has thought of to help schools instill discipline among the learners as well as driving them to develop love for the state and the environment they live in.
RDC Nsubuga said patriotism is one way of trying to shape a person to be a good citizen of his or her Country.
He however cautioned those with bad perception towards patriotism to style up especially those who say patriotism is for President Museveni and NRM party saying its only through Patriotism that a person can develop love for oneself.
RDC Nsubuga urged students to have a clear vision of their future and work tirelessly to achieve their ambitions.

Turyamusiima David the Kyamakanda Secondary School head teacher said the 273 students passed out went through many topics, ranging from introduction to patriotism and leadership skills, issues of the environment among others.
Turyamusiima recognized the government for the good initiative of patriotism since it will change the lifestyles of students.

Patriotism is a government-wide campaign initiated by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in February 2009.
The program’s goal is to instill patriotism standards and ideals in youth and secondary school students in order to provide ideological orientation.
