Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, the North Kigezi Diocesan Bishop, has urged Christians to always give back to God in order to reap more benefits from His kingdom.
Bishop Onesimus issued the appeal over the weekend at the Bugangari archdeaconry’s fundraising function. The goal of the event was to earn money to purchase a car for their archdeacon, Ven. Can. Mbangyi Elias, so that he might have a simpler job while serving God.
Bishop Onesimus revealed during his sermon at the Bugangari Archdeaconry church ground that since God has given us life, which is the greatest gift of all, all wealth belongs to Him. As such, people should make an effort to give back to Him by contributing financially, morally, and spiritually to church projects.

But in order to get more benefits from God who is the source of everything, Bishop Onesimus exhorted all Christians to develop the practice of giving to God.
” Generosity and Thanksgiving are very key as true believers, and I challenged the congregation to cultivate the habit of donating to God who is the provider of all things”.
Bishop Onesimus urged Mr. Kwesiga Boaz Ruteera, the head of Laity for the Bugangari Archdeaconry, to continue serving the Lord by thanking him for his commitment and the time he spent arranging church functions.

The chief guest during the function, Mr. Patrick Kamugisha, a business entrepreneur from Rukungiri district, advised churches to emphasize coffee production as a means of promoting development and combating poverty.
According to Kamugisha, if all Ugandans and institutions take up the coffee initiative, it will promote development and raise everyone’s standard of living.
On the other hand, he paid Ugx. 2 million for the archdeacon’s vehicle.

The idea to generate money for their archdeacon to purchase a car was started by Mr. Kwesiga Boaz Ruteera, the leader of the laity in Bugangari Archdeaconry. He said that they were doing this as a token of gratitude to the God-servant for his exceptional work in their archdeaconry.
As the leader of the laity and Christians in the Bugangari Archdeaconry, Kwesiga said, they are concerned about the wellbeing of God’s workers and plan to enhance the welfare of everyone under their care so that they can fully serve the Lord.

He emphasized the importance of Christians having a firm conviction in God, telling them that if they do, He will grant all of their prayers and exhorting them to never give up hope for brighter times ahead.
He went on to say that those who have put all of their faith and confidence in God do not let bad things unsettle them; instead, they are steadfast in their belief that God has their future covered.
“My strength lies in the Lord, that is why I have come to his presence to express my gratitude to him for all his mercies towards me and my household where I survived a deadly accident,” he added.
