Members of the “Kabale City Claim Forum” have surrounded Godfrey Nyakahuma’s office as the resident district commissioner (RDC) to demand the government’s position on the development of Kabale City.
Six members, led by Barnabas Tugumisirize, expressed their dismay when the Ugandan parliament declared Kabale municipality to be a city.
However, they said that the same growth was being impeded by politicians who were acting selfishly and in their own interests.
The forum for Kabale city claims told RDC during the meeting that was held in the Kabale district board room that after Rubanda East legislator Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, the minister of state for finance in charge of general duties, said that people hoping for Kabale City should not even have any hopes because the finance ministry and the country’s treasury no longer have the capacity to accommodate the new cities.

However, in response, Nyakahuma gave the angry members who had stormed his office a promise that he would make arrangements with the minister of Local Government, Hon. Raphael Magezi, who is anticipated in the Kabale district in a few days because their issue falls under his purview, claiming that he is the person to provide the accurate information about Kabale City.
