Police breaks silence on tragic accident that killed two family members in Kabale


Police in Kabale district are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two family members in a deadly accident involving a Sino truck and motorcycle, which left one gravely injured at kijongo cell in Buhara Sub County.

ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokesperson, identified the deceased as Amumpire Fauster, 30 years old and a resident of Maziba village Buhara sub county Kabale district, and her son Ayebare Grigory, 1 and a half years old, both of whom died on the spot, while Denis, the Boda Boda rider, was critically injured.

The accident is said to have involved a motor vehicle reg no UBK710L sino truck red in color driven by an unknown driver who fled and a motor cycle reg no UDF571Q B/B red in color ridden by one Denis 40yrs resident of Buhara village Kabale district who was admitted to Buhara health center iii.

The incident occurred on 12/06/2023 at around 05:00pm at Kijonjo village Buhara sub county Kabale district.

Maate confirmed to the press that the deceased’s bodies were retrieved and taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem and both the motor vehicle and the motorcycle are parked at Kabale Cps yard pending IOV inspection.

He also revealed that Scene was visited by ASP Baguma and his party due to the undetermined accident and ongoing investigations.

The fatal accident case file was registered at Kabale CPS with reference number TAR 66/2023, according to Maate.
