The Rujumbura County area Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi yesterday launched the rehabilitation of community access roads that are in a bad state from his constituency starting from Buhunga Sub County to ease transportation.
Hon. Jim Muhwezi who is also the minister for security was represented by his political Assistant Mr. Isaac Kaharuza during the launch and they started with Omukikunika-Rusheshe road in Buhunga Sub County Rukungiri district.
During the launch, Kaharuza stated that Minister Muhwezi obtained a grader from the Ministry of Agriculture to assist with the task.
“There is just one grader in the Rukungiri district, and it covers every road in the area. Hon. Jim Muhwezi, MP and Minister, made the decision to use his resources for the benefit of his people.” Kaharuza said.
Speaking on behalf of Minister Jim, Kaharuza gave his constituents the assurance that the government will work to improve the provision of services, such as roads, health facilities, electricity, water, and education, in order to ensure the constituency’s growth.
According to Kaharuza, the district’s road conditions deteriorated last year as a result of Covid-19 epidemic and the intense, torrential rains.
