
The Security Minister who is also the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi has paid glowing tribute to the late Africano Kijunjure for his tremendous contribution to the country in the economic, education and political.
Minister Jim Muhwezi made the remarks yesterday Tuesday morning after laying a Wreath on the grave of late Kijunjure who was the retired Primary School head teacher at Rwanyanja village, Kazindiro parish in Bugangari Sub County Rukungiri district.
The Minister was received on arrival at the home of the late Kijunjure by a group of family members led by Mr.Tagobya Prosper the first son and Mrs. Tumuheirwe Jane the widow.

Speaking to the late Kijunjure’s family, Minister Muhwezi praised him for taking up the task of teaching Ugandans who are now influential, some of whom work for the government and others for private businesses.
“He was not only an NRM activist but was also a teacher who taught some of Ugandans that are currently important in the country,” Muhwezi noted.
Because their father educated them all and are all still alive, Minister Muhwezi urged the late Kijunjure’s children to carry on their father’s legacy.
He did, however, affirm that President Museveni will send the family Ugx. 10 million condolence to support them during these difficult times.

As the first son of the late Kijunjure, Tagobya Prosper spoke on behalf of the family, he described the late father as someone who did all it took to ensure their survival because he educated them; today, some of them are businesses and others are serving in the government.
Tagobya expressed gratitude to the minister for his affection for their father and the family as a whole, promising to support the Ugandan government together.

At the age of 83, Mzee Africano Kijunjure passed away on December 7, 2023, leaving behind five children and twenty grandkids.
