RUKUNGIRI: Preparations in high gear ahead of tomorrow’s BAAF fundraising at Nyakibale Parish

Rev Fr. Julius Turyatoranwa, the dean of Nyakibale Denary

NEWS-Everything is set for tomorrow, October 28, 2023, at Nyakibale parish for the bishop’s annual appeal fund fundraising ceremony for the Rukungiri chapter, which will be presided over by the bishop for Kabale diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira.

Rev Fr. Julius Turyatoranwa, the dean of Nyakibale Denary and parish priest Christ the King Rukungiri, has revealed this.

In an exclusive interview with our reporter today, he stated that the chief guest for the fundraiser mass, which will be led by the Kabale diocesan bishop, Rt Rev. Calistus Rubaramira, at 10 p.m., is the minister of security, Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi who is the minister of security and the Rujumbura County Member of Parliament.

The Kabale Catholic Diocese is currently searching for Ugx.3 billion needed to establish St. Ignatius University, which it will own privately.

Bishop Calistus Rubaramira founded the Bishop Annual Appeal in 2015 because the diocese has been hosting yearly fundraising events to raise funds for church initiatives spread around the diocese.

Fr. Turyatoronwa stated that Rukungiri ought to make a substantial contribution because the BAAF assisted the Rukungiri chapter last year in erecting a commercial building on Republic Road across from the Rukungiri Central Police Station.

This structure will soon be put into service and house the Rukungiri branch of the Continental Bank.

For the bishop to be able to achieve his aim, he asks everyone to appreciate and support the 2023 BAAF project.

As Rukungiri aims to raise 450 million, BAAF chapter head Mr. Maanige Wenceslas urges on all Rukungiri residents to support BAAF in order for the chapter to be vibrant and successful.
