Hon. Midius Natukunda Kaharata, the Woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri district, has encouraged residents in the district and Ugandans at large to adopt a saving culture, citing its significance in wealth development.

Hon. Natukunda revealed this yesterday Sunday while officiating as the chief guest during the fundraising event for the roof of the priest’s house at the Our Lady of Mercy Kirama Catholic Center in Kikarara Parish, Bwambara Sub County, Rukungiri district.

Speaking to the congregation, Hon. Midius Natukunda stated that for Ugandans to advance both personally and as a nation, they must adopt a mindset that prioritizes saving.

She encouraged people to labor for businesses rather than only for their own consumption because doing so will lower household poverty.

Rukungiri residents, however, were reassured by Hon. Midius Natukunda that she remains vibrant and capable of representing their interests in Parliament, and she added that they shouldn’t be misled by others who have served in parliament for fifteen years without voicing concerns about people.

She and the Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi, the Member of Parliament for Rujumbura County, contributed 230 iron sheets required to cover the whole priests’ residence at the Our Lady of Mercy Kirama Catholic Center with each contributing 115.
